Delete Your Account

Effective 2 September 2026  ·  Last updated 2 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your account for Tally, the attendance counting app published by MTS Studio, and what happens to the data held with it. You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you - you do not need to have the app installed.

Option 1 - In the app

Delete it yourself

If you still have Tally installed, this is the fastest route. It takes effect immediately.

Profile → Delete Account → Confirm
Option 2 - By email

Ask us to delete it

If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email us with the subject Delete my account:

[email protected]

1Making the request by email

Send your message from the email address on your Tally account. That is how we confirm the request is really yours - we cannot delete an account on the word of an address we do not recognise.

Please include:

If you can no longer send mail from that address, write to us from any address and say so. We will ask you for something else that shows the account is yours, and we may have to decline if we cannot establish it - deleting an account on an unverified request would let anyone erase someone else's records.

Before you ask

There is nothing to cancel first. Tally has no paid subscription, so no billing needs settling before an account can go.

2What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore an account or its data afterwards, so please be sure.

3What we keep, and why

Some things outlive your account, and you should know that before you delete it. The main one is that a community's records belong to the community, not only to you. If you counted an event for a community, that event and its numbers stay with the community after you leave. Deleting your account removes you from the member list; it does not erase the community's history.

Data On deletion Why
Name, email, password Deleted Identifies you and nothing else.
Community membership Deleted You are removed from the member list.
Sign-in tokens Deleted Signs you out of every device.
Events and attendance counts Kept by the community They are the community's operational records. Ask the community to remove them.
Announcements you posted Kept by the community Other members may still be relying on them. Delete them yourself before you go, or ask the community.
Connection records Kept briefly Held for a limited period for security and fraud prevention, then discarded.
Backups Kept until they cycle Routine backups age out on a schedule; deleted data goes with them.
Emails already sent to you Yours to delete Reports and codes already delivered sit in your mailbox, outside our control.

If you want your announcements gone as well, delete them in the app before you delete your account - it is much simpler than asking afterwards. Our Privacy Policy covers retention in full.

4How long it takes

If 30 days pass without word from us, please write again - a message may have gone astray.

5If you never made an account

Tally can be used without registering. In that case we hold no name, no email address and no password for you - just a random identifier the app generated on your device, which is not linked to a person.

To clear it, uninstall Tally or clear its data in your device settings. That removes the identifier and the app's local data from your device. Be aware that it also ends your ability to edit any events you created under that identifier, because nothing else ties them to you.
